A group of Year 11 pupils visited Palace Barracks, Hollywood to attend a careers open day. Soldiers had stalls representing the different sections within the army.
We arrived at 10am and we were greeted as we got off the bus. We where then given information for the days programme of events. We spent some time walking around the different stalls and spoke to soldiers in various battalions in the army. We were given lots of information and participated in a range of activities. Each section had an activity to provide an experience of what army like would be like. We got our face‘s painted and were fed on burgers.
Everyone had a great day and we learnt a lot about army life. We would strongly consider joining the army when we leave school. Some girls are returning in June to carry out their work experience in the Army.
