There were a number of girls selected in Year 8 back in 2002 from this school to join the cross community group called I.C.F. They were Rebekah Kirk, Kirsty Strain, Natasha Cludow, Melissa McAllister, Nicole Grainger, Samantha Gault and Alanna. On Sunday the 8th of October each of the girls mentioned above, graduated from the project and received certificates for participating in the project. Miss Irvine is the head of the Chaperones in American and helps out with the project.

Gary Rocks, the director of the programme made a slide show of us all over the past 3 years. As we and our parents watched the show it made us laugh and smile but also made us think about the great opportunities that we were given to take part in this programme. This has changed our lives for the better. We now know that religion doesn‘t matter at all. Many of us have made new great friends while in this programme and still are friends even outside the programme.

When we went to Chicago in 2003 and again in 2006, we stayed with families which now we call a second home. They made us feel ever so welcome and gave us great summers we will never forget. It was very sad on the days when we were leaving them but a lot of us do still keep in touch with them and always will.

Overall receiving our awards gave us a keepsake. It is something we can always keep and we will always have I.C.F (Irish Children‘s fund.) memories for a very long time yet and will always keep in touch.
