What?
The Shankill Shankill project is a cross community project that operates North and South of the border bringing together Catholic and Protestant pupils to build bridges and friendships. As part of this project on the 21st of May four girls from our school joined other schools from Belfast and met at Ulidia College at Carrickfergus for a ’Peace one day‘ assembly. This was organised to mark the annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence and the UN International Day of Peace, fixed in the global calendar on 21 September - Peace Day. The assembly was very moving and challenged young people to support peace amongst their friend‘s family and communities.

Where?
After the assembly pupils from various schools in Belfast went to the Carnfunnock Country park where they had the opportunity to get to know each other whilst enjoying the beautiful sights and surroundings of the park. The pupils enjoyed interacting with each other finding their way around the maze followed by an entertaining time at the park. They met lots of new friends from various other schools and they will build upon these friendships over the next two years at various organised events!
