The year 8 Induction day was a huge success. Karen Clarke from Young Enterprise joined the Year 8 in the Central hall and facilitated organising the Induction. The aim of the programme was to allow our new pupils to get to know other people in their year group. The induction began with ”pupil treasure hunt“ - where everyone had to search the hall for other pupils who fitted one of the 16 descriptions they were given. Courtney Faulkner was one of the first pupils to have her table filled in - What a great networker! This activity was a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed it.
Other activities included designing a business card and the top 5 business cards were selected. Nicole Kennedy was one of the winners who designed an excellent card for an animal surgery! Well Done!
This was followed by an enjoyable session inventing a company for a country that each group was assigned. Everyone had to think of a slogan and a jingle for their country. The Finland group in the morning came first - they sang a great jingle and in the afternoon the Greece group with the ”tutti frutti“ company managed to take 1st place. Well Done!
Overall, it was a very enjoyable day and everyone hopefully got to know at least one other new person in their year group.
A big thank you to all the prefects who helped out and joined in all the activities - the year 8 girls really appreciated their help.
