Eventually it has arrived. For the past few months in and around all the youth work Miriam (centre co-ordinator) and Mark (centre youth worker - who most of the credit needs to go to) have been putting together a little website for all of you to enjoy. And as it is the start of the year we feel it is the right time to launch this little baby.

So in your spare time (after you have done all your homework and study!) log on to www.ballysillanyfc.moonfruit.com and check us out. Find out who we are, what we do, what programmes are on, see some photos and some sweet video clips. Also check out our links page. You may stumble across some helpful and informative sites.

The website will be updated each week with what has been happening in and around the centre, so check it out to see what has been going on.

Unfortunately we in the centre are mainly trainee webmasters so if you have any ideas or suggestions, please let us know.

Fun and frolics at Drop-In (big people and small people)
For those of you who do not know we run two nights of drop-in at the centre, Monday 6.30 - 8.00pm for P4 to 1st year (Junior Drop-In) and Tuesday Night 7.30 - 10pm for 1st year and upwards (Senior Drop-In). These nights have a mixture of everything. Alongside the usual pool, table tennis, playstation, board game action we also run competitions, fun quizzes, team challenges (which include many messy games where your mates take the mick out of you - its great) as well as just having space to chill out, relax, hang with your mates and talk about almost everything and anything.

Prior to Christmas we had two awesome nights of both Junior and Senior Drop-In. Alongside games such as ’Challenge Santa‘ these young legends had to come in fancy dress, and boy did they deliver. Christmas trees, presents, fairies, angels and santas all made their way through the door which added to the fun and festive atmosphere within the centre. Senior drop-in had a very interesting Christmas bash. One of our volunteers Stevie (aka the ginga ninga) brought along his band and played many Christmas anthems in an alternative rock styley. The troops at drop-in loved it, singing along and even getting up and having a blast on the mic themselves. However that was not the highlight of the evening. Our 10 week ’Olympic team challenge‘ came to an end that night with the big Christmas dance off. Points were close and with a big prize awaiting the stakes were high. About 13 people stepped up to the challenge and we witnessed some sweet and not so sweet dance moves as each competitor strutted their stuff for 15 seconds. When points were totalled up the lads team had snuck into first place and will now enjoy a nights Go Karting at Raceview Indoor Karting in Ballymena. Well done boys!
