Each Thursday afternoon at the end of school, 10 - 12 girls attend Springvale Fold as part of the Intergeneration Project. The main aim is to work with older people and create something at the end of it. By this I mean either the older people teaching us something or us teaching them.

I am a member of this group and I think that it is very worthwhile. On the first week went visited the fold and got to know the various men and women involved. We were assigned to one or two of the members and worked together as a pair or a group.

Over the past few weeks we have discussed some things that both us and members of the fold would like to do as a team. The most popular idea was knitting so we are planning on including this in our project.

I think that this project will be extremely beneficial to all those involved, both young and old. The atmosphere at the fold is great. The members are very kind and caring towards us.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs J Clarke on behalf of myself and everyone else included in this project, for providing us with such an interesting activity. As the project progresses we will be sure to keep you as up-to-date as possible.
