Miss Allen and Miss Purdy invited pupils from Seaview and Forthriver Primary Schools to the Girl‘s Model to take part in a numeracy trail and some ICT work as part of dissemination of good practice.
The numeracy trail involved the pupils performing a range of mathematical tasks based on the various subjects studied within our school. The highlight of the trail was reaching the Home Economics department as there were fresh muffins for all involved!
The ICT work involved one week working on laptops, completing activities based on spreadsheets and maths games on the internet, and one week using Qwizdom, which proved very popular and generated a healthy sense of competition within the classes. Each pupil received a certificate for participation, refreshments and a small prize. Thanks to all those involved, particularly Gavin and Jamie from Qwizdom who came in to take the final session.
