The Army Challenge takes place every year and this year we were 1 of 23 schools that entered. Throughout the course of the day the girls have to complete 4 tasks which are all timed. First of all the girls had to prepare a 20 minute presentation on a historical topic before going to the army base. The presentation was to be based on ”Nazi control of people‘s lives.“ The presentation was then followed by a questions and answer session by the examiners. The girls then had to complete a problem solving activity which involved them finding pieces of material and putting them together to build a bridge.

After all the talking was over it was time for the fitness tasks. The physical part of the day included 2 tasks. These were an Assault Course, which is the same course that the training soldiers complete in their training. It was a hard course to do but all the girls worked hard and got through it with help from each other. They also had to do an orienteering activity, this involved the girls using maps to search the Army Base for poles and canvas, bring them back to the base and erect a tent within a certain time limit.

All of the girls preformed really well in all of the activities and had a fantastic day and all really enjoyed themselves. The results haven‘t yet been given out yet. But watch this space!
