ICT is moving forward in all aspects of the school, providing the opportunity for three Year 10 classes to achieve a GCSE in ICT this year. This is an exciting time for the ICT department and all our students. These girls will study 2 units of the Level 2 OCR Nationals allowing them to achieve the OCR Nationals First Certificate in ICT. This is equivalent to one GCSE grade A*-C.
We interviewed three Year 10 students and this is what they said:
"At the start of the year Ms Boyd told us that we were going to be working towards a GCSE in ICT and I didn‘t know what to say - it was so exciting. I was very happy, but a little worried as I thought it would be very stressful, but when we got started doing the work it was really good fun. I‘m really enjoying ICT". Jessica Rachel Graham 10O
"When we started in September our teacher told us we were getting to do GCSE ICT in Year 10. I am a bit nervous about it, but we get lots of class time to complete the work and we get to come to our ICT room at lunch time to do our coursework". Laurie Nesbitt 10O
"I am very excited to be one of the Year 10 students working towards to GCSE in ICT. Our ICT teacher has been a great help and I look forward to doing ICT more next year. I thought the work would be really hard, but we are using MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint to create lots of documents. I was very nervous to start, but now I love going to ICT and can‘t wait to go to ICT every Monday". Leah McFarlane 10O
