For the first time ever Belfast Model School for Girls proudly presents...
Model Stage School
Performing Arts teachers Miss Willis, Mrs Metcalf and Miss Cabe have created Model Stage School with classes running every Wednesday evening. The classes involve activities such as dance, drama and singing ensured to develop your self confidence, self esteem and creativity as well as boosting your social and communication skills. This is all provided for a small membership fee of £10.00 per 10 week term or £1 per evening for the primary session and £2 per evening for the secondary session.
The class has already been running for 5 weeks and according to teachers and pupils there has been an extremely enthusiastic attitude within the class from all those who attend. There are approximately 35 members in both the primary and secondary class sessions.
Running from 5pm to 6.30pm the primary school children spend their time preparing to perform Annie the musical and have so far learnt to dance and sing to the song ”Tomorrow“ and are currently working on the famous song ”It‘s a hard knock life,“ whilst using lots of fun games and activities to gain vocal and acting abilities that will wow the crowd.
The secondary class sessions which apply to teenagers are in the process of being taught Chicago the musical. With guidance and support from both teachers‘ involved and other pupils various vocal and drama exercises are done to build confidence for talent shows and performances. Also the class has begun script reading with everyone desperate to be the next movie star!
Even though the classes have been running for 5 weeks already, any one with an interest should not hesitate to come along and share the fun as there are still places available. All pupils can be assured everyone will be made feel welcome.
The classes have a hard working, committed attitude with a sense of fun throughout which will be apparent when the performances are able to be watched by friends and family. Getting involved with this great opportunity within the local and school community will undoubtedly benefit your ability in the performance aspect as well as team work and socialising. Those who already attend will agree!
