2007/08 has saw the return of many of the regular extra curricular activities, however, due to high demand there have been many new activities started.
Fashion Design - Mrs Ward
The purpose of this after school club is to explore the ins and outs of the fashion industry. With our girls having much interest in fashion trends and new fresh looks, Mrs Ward thought this type of club would be very popular with the pupils. The club is aimed at year 8 & 9 pupils and there is no cost therefore it‘s free and exciting fun! If you are interested please come along to the Art department after school on a Monday, you will be very welcome!
Chess Club - Mr Adams
As a result of Mrs Sutherland initiating a chess club, Mr Adams volunteered to run the club as he thought it would be beneficial for our girls to learn. Mr Hamilton will also be helping out with running the club which will be held on Wednesdays at lunchtime. Meetings started back in October and it is open to everyone, even if you don't know how to play, Mr Adams will be able to show you to ropes. This club is free, so please come along!
Pony Club - Miss Crymble & Mrs Duncan
This club was run previously by Mr McKee, but thanks to Miss Crymble and Mrs Duncan this club has returned. They meet in room 21 on Tuesday at lunchtime and the pupils can learn more about horses and horse-riding. They also get to go on trips such as the Northern Ireland International Horse show. On Friday 26th October the Pony Club enjoyed a world class horse riding event held annually in the Odyssey Arena.
At the show there was a mix of international pony and horse show-jumping championships and the excitement of the Devil‘s horsemen, the London Metropolitan Police, dressage to music and the Pony Club mounted games. International favourites also featured such as the speed grand prix and the giant puissance wall. If you are interested in horse-riding contact Miss Crymble or Mrs Duncan and you will be more than welcome to come along.
