The Shankill-Shankill project is a cross community project that operates North and South of the border bringing together Catholic and Protestant pupils to build bridges and friendships.
As part of this project Chloe English, Zoe McIlroy, Stacie Irwin and Megan Peeples from year 9 went to Dublin in October on a 3 day residential with pupils from St Patrick‘s, Ulida College, Boys‘ Model and Our Lady of Mercy.
The students got to know each other while enjoying activities in Dublin. These included seeing the sights of Dublin on an open-top bus, Irish dancing, ten-pin bowling, visiting Wicklow Gael and meeting the Bristish Ambassador at the Embassy. We also stayed in a great hotel where the pupils enjoyed early morning swims! Everyone enjoyed making new friends and hope to build upon these friendships with more activities later in the year.
