Have any of you got an idea which could help our school? Would you like to start a new club or improve something in our school? If you do, youthbank is here to help you!
Youthbank is a scheme where young people are given the opportunity and money to run projects that will benefit their school and community.
In the past, Youthbank has provided funds for:
· New football kits to improve the football team‘s morale and hopefully their performance as well and encourage new members to join.
· A group of girls organised a trip to the children‘s hospice to perform a music and dance show for them. They were also given money to buy musical equipment for the hospice.
· An art club at school
· Badges and certificates for the primary school pupils participating in the Top-Link festival.
· Equipment and games for a youth club
Our youth bank committee will be giving out application forms soon for any girls who have an idea to apply for a grant. The committee then decides which groups of girls will get grants to run their projects and which will not. They do this by carrying out interviews, assessing and scoring ideas together. You will probably see our committee members around the corridors with their youthbank badges.

Our plan for Sep- Oct
Our aim at the beginning of the year is to promote Youthbank throughout the school. We want everyone to know what Youthbank is and have the chance to apply. We will do this by speaking in senior and junior assembly on 22nd October, as well as form groups throughout that week. We will also produce posters and fliers and put them all around the school. Every pupil in the school will have the opportunity to get an application form and apply for a grant. The deadline for application forms to be handed in is Wednesday 7th November.
