On Thursday 17th January the YouthBank team held a presentation event in the library. On this day we presented cheques to the teams that were successful in receiving a grant from the YouthBank team. We had refreshments and the local press came to take photographs. As Ulster Bank sponsors YouthBank they also attended the presentation day along with two YouthBank representatives. The successful applicants and projects who were presented cheques were:
· Gina Hearst and Chelsea Hamilton who were awarded £200 for hip hop classes in the local community centre.
· Beth Carlisle and Ashley Taylor who were awarded £140 for the school Pony Club.
· Natasha Orr and Erin Coates got £275 for Olympus to transport them to dance championships.
· The Top Link committee also received £500 for their event.
· Sara West and Joanne Porter received £300 for performing arts. To visit a retirement home and put on a show.
· Anna McDonald and Stephanie Mahood got £200 to start cookery club after school.
· Carole Grant and Colleen Mann were awarded £200 to go towards Student Voice.
We would like to wish the girls all the best with their projects and congratulate them on receiving their grants.
