From the 26th - 31st January the music department along with some performing arts girls went on a tour of the local primary schools to promote our school. The tour began on Monday with Lowwood Primary, moving to Cliftonville Primary on Tuesday. On Thursday they performed in Forthriver, moving to Springhill for the final day. It was a very tiring, but extremely enjoyable week for both teachers and pupils.

The performance began with Anna and Megan displaying their drama skills. Stephanie Watters then performed God‘s Plan with the rest of Model Rock (Emma, Kerrie, Alyssa and Jessica). Sarah and Alyssa carried on the musical theme with a preview of our production for this year. Sarah is playing the part of Leisl and Alyssa is playing the part of Rolf and they performed ”16 Going On 17“. The theme was changed by Natasha and Lauren who danced to ”All That Jazz“. Kerrie then played ”Jupiter“ on the euphonium accompanied by Mrs Cruise. The primary school tour wouldn‘t be complete without the audience getting involved and they were able to do this and show off their excellent musical talents - Mrs Graham was already taking notes for the school choir next year! A unique performance this year was the drum duet from Alyssa and Jessica - who would have thought drums could be played with such rhythmic skill. Sarah and Stephanie joined together to perform ”Tell Him“ and then Model Rock returned to complete the show with ”Who Knew“. Everyone enjoyed the show especially the primary school pupils and this let them see what they could expect if they became a pupil next year in the Girls Model.
