Miss Brown who walked down the aisle on 26th July 2008 and married her handsome scotsman Mr McKeown. The happy couple had a fantastic wedding day at The Europa Hotel Belfast and were joined by family and close friends for celebrations well into the night. The lucky pair then headed off on honeymoon to Domican Republic and returned home far too bronzed, while the rest of us remained milky white due to the horrid Northern Ireland weather!! Miss Brown, now Mrs McKeown has almost come back down to earth after marrying the man of her dreams - many congrats to you both.

Miss Black who tied the knot on 25th of July. What did you do? Were you at the Model Summer Scheme? Were you lying on the beach, or in bed? Well, I had the honour of attending the evening reception of the wedding of our own Miss Karla Black to Mr Charlie McClatchey. I worried for days about what to wear - I needn‘t have bothered because on the day all eyes were on Miss Black, and she didn‘t disappoint. Miss Black is always beautifully dressed, but on her wedding day she looked absolutely amazing. From her stunning red and ivory dress, to her beautifully styled hair, she looked every inch the movie star she teaches you about in Media Studies. As for the groom - well, apart from looking like a film star himself, he couldn‘t keep the smile off his face. And who could blame him with a gorgeous new wife like our Miss Black. When the happy couple took to the floor for their first dance, there wasn‘t a dry eye in the house. (Sigh!) Who said romance was dead?

Goodness knows how she did it, but Miss Purdy managed to arrange her wedding for one of the only sunny days of the Summer - lucky or what? On 4th of July Miss Purdy married Mr Rodgers in glorious sunshine and the company of family and friends. The Bride was truly stunning in ivory and the Groom, truly stunned to have hooked himself such a beautiful bride. The Maths department had offered to make Miss Purdy a tiara for the occasion and many staff offered to be bridesmaids, sing at the wedding etc. Thankfully, she turned down all offers avoiding a nightmare wedding and opting for the real deal - the fairytale day of every girl‘s dreams!
The new Mr and Mrs Rodgers danced the night away in the Crawfordsburn Inn before jetting off to the Caribbean island of St Lucia on their honeymoon.

On the 26th July Miss Strand got married and became Mrs Murphy. She was fortunate to escape the awful July weather and was lucky to have a glorious sunny day. The bride looked radiant in her fantastic designer gown and Mr Murphy did not look too bad himself. Stephanie Watters sang beautifully at the ceremony which brought a tear to most eyes. A champagne reception started the celebrations and the highlight of the reception was the cutting of the beautiful cake, made by our very own lab technician Melanie Trafford. The evening entertainment featuring the brilliant Belfast band ’Fusion‘ continued into the small hours. A wonderful day was had by all 200 guests, one which will be remembered fondly by everyone.
