For the past 6 years here in the Girls Model we have been involved in supporting Project Romania. This charity is lead by Rev Norman Patterson and his wife Linda. They spend around half the year living and working in Romania. An important aspect of their work is the annual Christmas shoe box appeal. Over the years we have sent at least 2000 shoe boxes to Romania in time for Christmas. It is important for us to remember that our shoe box and a set of new clothes is often the only Christmas present the elderly and young people in the villages of Romania will receive. Thanks to the generosity of pupils and staff we were able to send 175 shoeboxes this year and several boxes of toiletries and baby supplies. They were collected in the middle of October to begin their journey to Romania in time for Christmas.
