Skiing Trip
15 girls arrived at Belfast International Airport on Saturday 7th February 2009. Their destination…….Polsa, Italy for one week of glorious Skiing. After a few hours delay we were finally on our way and arrived at our hotel at 3 am! Rooms allocated, beds picked, unpacking, midnight feasting and then it was morning!!!
After breakfast everyone was fitted with their boots and given their skis and then it was off to the slopes. We were divided into two groups - one for the beginners and the other for advanced skiers. This is when we met our instructors for the week. The beginners were shown some basic moves and the advanced group hit the slopes. We all met at lunch to catch up.
After lunch we had some more time on the slopes before finishing for the day. This was our pattern for the week. The advanced skiers had a chance to go on the black slope - frightening but exciting at the same time.
Every evening we had an activity, these ranged form quiz night, beetle drive, karaoke, disco and talent show, girls night in, funky hair dos, and a healthy snow walk. Another school - Hunter House were also staying at our hotel and we joined them for some of our evening fun. We made some new friendships and had some great laughs. But all too soon it finished and we are on our way home - all safe and in one piece.
