At the beginning of March we attended the British Council's Challenges in Schools Conference with Mr Mercer.
The purpose of the trip to Budapest was to try and make school a better place for pupils in the future. This involved discussing what the ideal school of the future would be like and what this would involve. The British Council took the ideas from students and put them together. Each of the different schools participating in this event had to vote for the best ideas and came up with some views ourselves which we presented at the front on the board.
We took part in team building exercises within our group. This involved working with others from Schools in Hungary, Slovenia and Finland and attending lots of conferences.
It is impossible to select the best bits but we really enjoyed cruising down the River Danube and having our dinner on the Boat. We absolutely loved meeting new people and getting to experience the culture and sights which Budapest had to offer. The worst part was saying goodbye and having to come home!
We will be taking part in a Challenges in Schools Conference at Queen‘s University Belfast on 23rd April 2009. This will involve talking in front of members of the Belfast Education and Library Board and Senior Management Teams from other Schools throughout Northern Ireland.
