To celebrate the Specialist School process in N.Ireland an event was held at the Radisson Roe Hotel, Limavady on Monday 8th June. This was attended by over 100 schools from across the province including the 44 designated Specialist Schools. There were a range of workshops conducted by a number of the schools to illustrate the work that has been undertaken within their establishments. It was really interesting to see the range of activities that have been completed.
A highlight of the event was a performance by some of the young people from the Limavady Learning Community. They performed an extract from their school performance which was outstanding. One of the pupils involved spoke about how much he enjoyed taking part in the activity and the skills he has developed as a result.
Mr Graham, Mrs Mairs, Mrs Leitch and Mrs Watson thoroughly enjoyed their day at the conference and came back to school with lots of ideas for next year.
