Once again this has been another busy term for our Specialist School ICT team. All staff have been working extremely hard both within school and in collaboration with our local Primary Schools and Community Groups.

Miss Crymble has continued to motivate the pupils in Forth River, Springhill and Springfield Primaries with her engaging Powerpoints and ICT activities. The pupils‘ skills have reached a pleasing standard and they have produced a range of resources including, a school newletter, presentations including animations and Blackcat logo tasks. Miss Crymble has also taught ICT in the Blue Houses and the young people there have completed their second GCSE in this subject.

Mrs Watson has also provided teaching assistance to two of our local primaries, Cliftonville and St Therese of Lisieux. She has worked with extremely enthusiastic Year 5 and 7 pupils to create presentations about Belfast and movies about the environment. The children have really surprised Mrs Watson with their skills and she has been blown away by the work that has been produced.

Mrs Stuart is coming to the end of a very enjoyable year with her group from the Shankill Women‘s Centre. They have been a very enthusiastic bunch who have worked diligently to complete the EDCL course.

Mr Mercer has continued to work with his group of Year 11 pupils to calculate the carbon footprint of the school. We all wait with anticipation to see how environmentally friendly or not the Belfast Model School for Girls really is.
