Welcome to our first edition of Click@GMS for the school year 2009-2010. I hope you will enjoy reading the news and information about the busy life at Girls‘ Model. I would like to thank Mrs Natalie Clarke and her team of 6th Form students for their continued hard work in producing the emagazine and all staff and students for a very successful start to the school year.
We are very proud of last year‘s Year 12 students who gained the best ever GCSE results when 66% achieved 5 or more GCSE grades at A*-C which is a fantastic achievement and has led to almost 110 girls returning for the first year of 6th Form study. As we have a full complement of 160 pupils transferring into Year 8 we are right on our limit of 960 pupils including statemented students and this means we have had to turn down some applications for entry which is regrettable but is out of our control.
We are very excited about moving into our brand new school at Christmas and hopefully everyone will be extremely pleased with all the facilities provided which, I feel, will be the best in Belfast if not the whole of Northern Ireland. All of us just can‘t wait for the opening and there will be plenty of photographs and articles on the new school in future editions of Click@GMS.
