Personification Poems - Year 11

bell.png

The gates flung their arms open to welcome the pupils.
The books had pains and sores from being tossed about all year.
The windows looked out at everyone as they walked around.
The playground sat lonely and sad that no one was there.
The chairs were tired and had sore legs from people sitting on them.
Some tables stood strong while some lay down with broken legs.
The white boards told the pupils what to do.
The doors had sore joints from being pushed and pulled all day.
The walls were shaking because of the large crowds of people roaming the corridors.
The bell screamed at the pupils letting them know the day was over.
The gates closed their arms to have a rest for a new day!

The most boring day at school

At 9.00 the bell rang, screaming like an upset baby.
The hallways were silent, no-one was about.
As I walk to class I only heard the footsteps that sounded like a horse.
I finally reached my maths room and no-one was about, it was like sitting in a graveyard on a cold dark night.
The next bell went for my breaktime, my stomach was rumbling as if it were a volcano about to erupt.
Breaktime was over it was now time for science, I hated it!
All I could hear was the bubbling of the experiment like a witch‘s cauldron on Halloween night.
The last bell went for everyone to go but no-one else seemed to come out.
The next thing was that I found out that school was off for the week!
I felt like an idiot like the ones on those funny T.V shows.
At last I‘m happy as I haven't to go back for another week.

The School Personification Poem

It was first thing in the morning.
The desk groaned as more chewing gum was stuck to his face.
The angry door got frustrated towards the girl as she slammed the door again.
The annoying lunch bell screamed like a banshee to get the kids attention.
It was first class after lunch.
The chalk screeched it‘s way down the chalkboard.
The old school building cried as the kids banged their way down the hallways.
By the end of the day the poor hard done by school couldn‘t wait to see the kids go.
” I wonder hot they will treat us tomorrow?“

School!

The bell shrieks as a new day is begun
The mouth like doors are flung open,
And ludicrous, exited children come inside,
Although not long after they look out the eyelike windows,
Planning an escape!
Chairs dance as children swing in the boring rooms,
And litter falls to the ground groaning.
Bunsens are silently screaming in science,
Cookers are shouting ”it‘s done“ in HE
Kettles are screeching ”I‘m ready“ in staffrooms.
The smell of coffee fills the halls telling you break has begun!

The School

As the children hurry in the doors, they get hurt as they bang them shut,
Soon the school feels lively once more.
The bell yells as it dings very loud with anger,
The chairs dance as the pupils make them warm.
The tables are scared at the clicks and taps of pens,
The whiteboard screeches as the whiteboard pens squeak along the board.
The school feels lonely no more.
