Modern Languages
GCSE
Chelsea Morrison, Lauren Palmer and Rachael Trainor all attained a grade B in French this year - a great achievement! Chelsea scored full marks in both the Listening and Reading papers, while Lauren and Rachael managed to gain full marks in one paper each (Lauren - Reading, Rachael - Listening). Well done to all three girls!
Many congratulations to Demi Tracey who achieved a very commendable Grade B in her AS Spanish, and to Natasha who was awarded a C. Alanna McCabe only missed a C by one mark and I look forward to her improving her grade at A Level. Jamie Patterson also did well to achieve a D. All four pupils have worked extremely hard and are a pleasure to teach!

Religious Education
In Religious Education, Helen Beattie and Rebecca Hill were the top candidates at AS level. They both gained an ”A“ grade. This was a new specification and exam paper and both girls worked very hard and did very well. We hope they will continue to work hard so that they can achieve great results in their A2 exams.

Science

There were four outstanding candidates at GCSE this year, all achieving grade A:
Shelley Hindes, Kirsty Knowles, Lauren Palmer, Rachael Trainor. All girls have returned to school to school to study for A levels. We wish them success.
Step-Up Double Award Applied Science
As
Kristina Smith was our highest achieving AS student this year. Kristina is a diligent and dedicated student who always produces excellent work and fully deserves her excellent grades.
A2 Gillian Orr & Rebecca Hughes
These girls studied their A level science as part of the Step-Up partnership with the University of Ulster. Whilst all of this class achieved 2 grades A-C Gillian & Rebecca both attained AB grades. Gillian has chosen to study Zoology and Rebecca, Business, at local universities. To celebrate the success of all the Belfast based candidates a graduation ceremony was held in Jordanstown the day after the results came out. Gillian was chosen to speak on behalf of all the Belfast students and received praise from Sir Reg. Empey MLA (Employment and Learning Minister), who was the guest speaker at the ceremony.

Sociology
Once again the Sociology Department was very pleased with the GSCE and A Level results which came out in June this year and these showed a great deal of hard work from the girls.
At GCSE Christine Burns, Zoe Murray and Rebecca Watters all achieved an A grade which was fantastic and well deserved. Rebecca seems to be keeping up the family tradition as her big sister Stephanie left the previous year with an A grade in A Level Sociology too!
At AS Level, the results were excellent also. Nicole Irvine, Helen Beattie and Chelsea Crothers achieved grade A. All last years AS students are now working hard to achieve a good grade in their A2 exams. Our year 14 leavers also did very well in their A2 Sociology exam with Christina Avery achieving grade A and Rebecca Hughes a grade B.
Very well done to all the candidates on passing GCSE and A Level Sociology.
