Welcome to the first edition of our emagazine from our new school. We moved across during the Christmas Holidays and, after a hectic few weeks of getting things ready, we are now up and running with the usual teething problems being sorted out slowly but surely. We are now pinching ourselves to make sure this is real and not just a dream as the facilities in the new school are state of the art and cannot be equalled anywhere in Northern Ireland or across the UK. Not only do we have the normal post-primary school provision but we also have a lot of enhanced facilities to allow us to continue our work in the community, for example, an 811m2 Sports Hall; a Fitness Suite: a Dance Studio; an Electronic Village Hall; a Performing Arts Theatre; a Hair and Beauty Salon to mention but a few.

We are now working with Amey FM who are responsible for running the school and its community facilities in order to set up a booking system where the community can book all of these facilities on-line whenever they are not being used by the school. They will be open in the evenings, at weekends and during the holidays with a Crèche opening as well around Easter 2010 with a capacity of 44 children. Please look for publicity brochures, advertisements etc whenever the facilities are ready for booking. Now we are just waiting for the rest of the school campus to be completed by May 2010 when, in addition to all we have at present, we also will have a 300m synthetic running track, a full size synthetic hockey pitch, 4 tennis courts, a 7-a-side synthetic hockey pitch, netball court and minor games area as our outdoor playing facilities.

I know that the girls are really enjoying being in our new school and hope that all of you take the opportunity of visiting it at parent consultation time or by coming to our School Production of ‘High School Musical’ in April.
