A group of 15 Year 10 girls, the new Peer Mediators for next year headed off to Castlewellan Castle for an overnight stay on the 9th of June with Mrs. Dalzell and Mrs. Thomas.
It was a fantastic setting and the girls enjoyed a varied programme of activities. The ice breakers and team building games included the “mummy” game, parachute and ball games and trying to negotiate the maze! Some cheated!!
There was also some serious work done, such as, looking at the role and responsibilities of the Peer Mediator and some Child Protection training. This has greatly helped to prepare the girls to take up their role of responsibility as a Peer Mediator with the new Year 8 pupils next year.
The food was great, there was lots of fun, good relationships were developed and it was dry and sunny for most of the time. Brilliant!!
